Water Treatment Process: Nitrification Reaction + Membrane Filtration
Capacity: 5–500 tons/day
Product Water Quality: Complies with national and local discharge standards
Applications: Landfills, waste compaction stations, waste transfer stations, and other waste management facilities

Wastewater Characteristics:

Leachate is a type of high-concentration organic wastewater generated during the stacking and landfilling of waste due to fermentation, rainwater infiltration, surface and groundwater percolation, and other factors. Its composition is complex and contains a wide range of organic pollutants (such as alkanes, carboxylic acids, esters, etc.) and metal ions (such as iron, zinc, lead, calcium, etc.). Some of these organic compounds are recognized as carcinogens or mutagens.

The water quality of leachate varies significantly and is influenced by factors such as waste composition, landfill age, landfill technology, and climate conditions. The pollutant concentration is extremely high—COD and BOD₅ levels can reach tens of thousands of mg/L, which is hundreds of times higher than typical municipal wastewater. Ammonia nitrogen content is also very high, sometimes reaching several thousand mg/L, and tends to increase over time.

Moreover, the proportion of microbial nutrients such as carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus is often imbalanced, affecting biological treatment performance. Leachate also contains high levels of heavy metals. More than a dozen metal ions can be present, including high concentrations of iron and zinc during the acidic fermentation stage (iron: up to 2000 mg/L, zinc: up to 130 mg/L, lead: up to 12.3 mg/L, and calcium: up to 4300 mg/L), which can severely inhibit biological treatment processes.

In summary, landfill leachate is characterized by complex composition, significant variation in water quality, high pollutant concentrations, nutrient imbalance for microbial treatment, and elevated heavy metal levels—making it highly challenging to treat and hazardous to the environment.

Product Features:

Our company selects appropriate treatment technologies based on required water volume and discharge standards, and customizes wastewater treatment systems accordingly. System configurations are tailored to local installation conditions and usage requirements. While ensuring compliance with discharge regulations, our solutions are designed to be easy to operate and maintain, safe, efficient, energy-saving, low-noise, and effective in sterilization and odor control.
